FAQ

What is creamed honey?

Real honey will eventually crystalize into chunky crystals. We speed up the crystallization process by adding crystalized honey into plain/liquid honey and pour it into a machine called a “honey creamer” where it mixes for about (4-5) days. The crystals break apart and spread throughout the entire batch of honey which makes the crystals small, smooth, and creamy. We then add our flavoring to create a delicious honey spread! What are the ingredients in creamed honey?

We keep our ingredients pure and simple.

Organic Lemon Creamed: Organic lemon powder and local/raw honey.
Organic Strawberry Creamed: Organic strawberry powder and local/raw honey.
Organic Vanilla Bean Creamed: Organic Madagascar vanilla bean powder and local/raw honey.
Cinnamon Creamed: Cinnamon and local/raw honey.
Pumpkin Spice: Ground cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves (Pumpkin spice) and local/raw honey.

Is it local honey?

YES! We source our honey from certified beekeepers throughout Central North Carolina. The bees are spread throughout Wake, Durham, Orange, Chatham, Harnett, Person, Guilford, and Franklin Counties. You won’t find a truer, local representation of local honey than NC Country Roads Honey.

What is considered “local honey”?

Bees can travel anywhere from (3-5) miles to find nectar. You need to consider the vegetation zone where the nectar sources came from. “Local” honey can be as far away as 3-4 hours. It depends on the flowers that are growing in the region.

Is your honey organic?

No. Since bees may travel up to (5) miles and are wild insects, there is no way to determine where they will go or where they have been. If you see honey claiming to be “organic”, it is not local and most likely, not from the USA.
